Give Thanks

Thanksgiving has always been my favorite holiday!
I love the chance to spend time with family cooking, eating, cleaning up and just hanging around without the pressure of commercialization that goes along with Christmas.
As a little girl, I remember getting dressed up and having Thanksgiving with all of my cousins. I looked forward to it every year.
Yesterday, Sadie's class had a Thanksgiving program and sitting there listening to 1st Graders give their meaning of Thanksgiving gave me a renewed appreciation for what is good and right with the world.
I truly am thankful for so many things...
My Savior, my incredibly handsome, sweet husband, our beautiful children, the incredible place we live, the love and support of such great family and the endless blessings of the restored gospel. (I will end there, but the list goes on and on.)
Happy Thanksgiving!

Wednesday, November 19th, Darby turned 10!
She is such a sweet girl. We are so grateful to have her in our family. She is a constant peace-maker at home and is always cognizant of the feelings of others.
Happy Birthday Pretty Girl!

School Lunch

Today was parents' day at the elementary school. I got to go eat lunch with Sadie, Hayley, Darby & Zack. As entirely un-cool and embarrassing as I am, I hope they know how much I love them, and how cool I think they are!

Election Day

I got up early this morning to go vote before work. I got to the polls about 7:10am. There was already a line well out the door and I debated at whether to stay, or to go home and get to work on time. But, as I was driving, the Boy Scouts from our ward were out putting up flags on the lawns and down Telegraph Street. It was a great reminder that voting is a privilege that I NEED to take advantage of. I ended up only 10-15 minutes late for work, with a sense of pride and patriotism that I wouldn't have had if I would had skipped voting this morning.
I am grateful to live in this country, I am grateful for those who have sacrificed so much for my freedoms, and I pray for the perpetuation of the faith and values on which this great nation was founded.
